The information below pertains to students assigned to Phase XVI who have been moved to hotel accommodations.

Dining
Required meal plan options
Students in hotel accommodations will automatically be assigned to The Daily Plan with unlimited meals and $200 per semester in declining balance funds. If you wish to keep The Daily Plan, you do not need to take action.
If you wish to change your meal plan, you may choose between The Daily Plan or The 160 Block Plan, with 160 meals and $350 in declining balance.
Please note that you will keep whichever plan you choose for the entire semester.
The deadline to change your meal plan without a $25 administrative fee is Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2023, at noon. The final deadline to change a meal plan with a $25 administrative fee is Friday, Sept. 8, 2023, at noon.
Takeout from dining halls
Dining Services will provide a reusable OZZI container to students for packaging meals to take from the campus dining halls to the hotel. The OZZI container may be returned to one of the OZZI kiosks or registers at the dining halls and exchanged for a fresh container.
Dine on Campus
Students should download the Dine on Campus app to access campus dining hours, locations and menus.
Hotel food options
Students staying in hotel accommodations will have access to breakfast items and snacks on-site, included with their meal plan. They also have access to a pantry with breakfast bundles and snacks seven days per week from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., and Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Breakfast service
Dining Services will offer a complimentary breakfast bundle to students in hotel accommodations. The breakfast bundle may be picked up from the hotel pantry. It will include a pastry option, granola bar option, fruit option, juice and water.
Snacks and in-between meal options
Dining Services will provide a temporary hotel pantry where students may pick up a limited number of complimentary snack items each day.
Hotel dinner option
Students will receive one meal voucher per day to redeem at the Edgewater Grille inside the Hilton between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. A to-go option will be available. Students may order the following from an assortment of menu items:
- One soup or salad; one appetizers sandwich, burger or flatbread; one side; one drink, tea or water; OR
- One entree and one drink, tea or water
In order to redeem the dinner voucher:
- Download the Niner Diners Mobile Ordering app.
- Select the hotel dining option.
- Select the dinner option and show your barcode receipt to a server in the Edgewater Grille.
Transportation
Parking and Transportation Services will provide a free shuttle to and from campus for students in hotel accommodations and their guests.
Extended housing shuttle
The extended-housing shuttle will operate on a fixed-route on the following schedule beginning Aug. 17, 2023:*
- Monday through Friday: 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Saturday through Sunday: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
*The shuttle will run on Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2023, from noon to 10 p.m.
If you need a ride after shuttle hours from campus to the hotel, contact Police and Public Safety at (704) 687-8300.
The shuttle will circulate approximately every 20 minutes during fixed-route service and stop at the following:
- Hilton (front entrance)
- South Village Deck
- Fretwell North
- Popp Martin Student Union (PMSU) West
Real-time shuttle tracking will be available on the PassioGO! app. The Extended Housing Shuttle will be labeled “HRL” on the bus signage and will be color-coded in purple in PassioGO!.
Parking
Hotel parking
Parking at the hotel will be complimentary to the students staying at the hotel.
Campus parking
Students may purchase a UNC Charlotte resident student parking permit if they choose. Parking permits go on sale Aug. 1, 2023.
If the student chooses not to purchase a parking permit while staying at the hotel, but changes their mind once they relocate onto campus, they can purchase a resident student parking permit at any time at a prorated cost.
