Frequently asked questions about the physical 49er ID Card.
No, if you do not have an NFC-enabled device, or you are unable to download the Transact eAccounts app, you may visit the 49er ID Card Office in the Popp Martin Student Union to have a physical 49er Card printed. Please bring an official government-issued identification card like a driver’s license, when you visit the office.
If your physical 49er ID Card is lost or stolen, you should suspend the use of your card online as soon as possible using “Card Management” in Transact eAccounts.
You can also report a lost or stolen card immediately by telephone to the 49er Card Office (704-687-7337) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
When a card is lost or stolen, the account balance cannot be protected until the card is reported and suspended. You may contact the 49er Card and Meal Plan Office to have the card reinstated if it is later found or you may purchase a new card. The cardholder bears sole responsibility for any funds spent between the time the card was lost or stolen and the time it is reported.
Temporary Cards may be issued at no cost and may be used for seven (7) days, after which the cards must be returned and a new card may be purchased for $20.
To receive a physical card, please visit the 49er ID Office in the Popp Martin Student Union. Card replacements cost $20, whether replacing a 49er Mobile ID or a lost physical ID.
Only one form of ID can be active at a time (either a Mobile ID or a physical card).

Frequently asked questions about the 49er Account and Optional Dining Account.
The 49er Account and Optional Dining Account (ODA) are campus spending accounts. You can deposit to campus spending accounts at any time, and funds roll over year to year as long as the student is enrolled at the University. Both spending accounts can be refunded when the student leaves the University. While the 49er Account can be used at almost all campus retail and service locations, the Optional Dining Account can only be used for campus dining.
Declining Balance (DB) is part of a meal plan. It can only be purchased as a meal plan at the beginning of a semester. Declining Balance expires at the end of the academic year in which it was purchased. “Leftover” Declining Balance cannot be refunded.
All three are accepted forms of payment at campus dining halls, dining retail locations and event concessions.
