Student accounts are a safe, easy way to spend on campus.

Campus Spending Accounts

Campus spending accounts are prepaid, declining-balance debit accounts linked to a student's 49er ID. They're a convenient way for students to make cashless purchases at on-campus locations.

49er Account

The 49er Account is a student spending account that can be used at more than 100 locations on campus including:

  • Dining halls, retail dining and concessions
  • Barnes & Noble Charlotte
  • Campus hair salon
  • Smart markets and Amazon Just Walk Out
  • Atkins Library
  • Mail & Package Services and Union Station
  • Parking and Transportation Services
  • Repros self-service copiers and printers
  • Vending machines

Optional Dining Account

The Optional Dining Account is a student spending account that can only be used at campus dining locations, including dining halls, retail dining and event concessions.

ODA is a great way to to supplement a student’s meal plan if their Declining Balance runs low.

Three ways to deposit

Deposits can be made throughout the year. The minimum deposit amount is $5.

Online
Deposit anytime or setup recurring deposits online through the eAccounts app or online portal.

In Person
Visit the 49er Card and Meal Plan Office in the Popp Martin Student Union to make a deposit in person.

Mail
Send a check or money order to the 49er Card Office, 9201 University City Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28223. Make checks payable to "UNC Charlotte – 49er Account" or "UNC Charlotte – ODA". Include the student ID number.

Guest Deposit

Top up your student’s spending accounts by making a guest deposit. Visit eAccounts, enter their 800/801 student ID number and select which account to add funds to.

Refund Request

Those separating from the university may request any funds remaining in their spending accounts.
