Book Rentals
If students wish to opt out of the Niner Course Pack, they may rent individual textbooks from the bookstore. The rental period lasts the entire semester, though students may convert rentals to purchases during the first two weeks of class.
Not all texts qualify for rental. Examples of those not included are older editions, texts packaged with software or other items and loose-leaf or perforated page books.
Students may pay for textbook rentals by:
- Cash
- Credit/Debit cards
- 49er Account
- Barnes & Noble gift cards
For security purposes, a valid credit card must also be provided, regardless of the rental payment method.
If books are not returned (or returned in an unusable condition) at the end of the rental period, they will be subject to additional replacement and processing fees.
Rental Return Deadlines
At the end of the semester, an email will be sent reminding students to return their books, and a limited-time option to buy out rentals at a special price will be offered. Books not returned (or returned in unusable condition) will be subject to replacement and processing fees.
