Prospector renovation brings mail, dining changes

Beginning Friday, Dec. 6, 2024, Mail & Package Services in Lower Prospector will start temporarily relocating services to Union Station in the Popp Martin Student Union (map) and the upper level of SoVi (map). Services will remain at these locations through the end of the summer 2025 semester.

While we understand the temporary relocation of services may be inconvenient for some, the change will allow for the renovation of Upper Prospector, which will welcome sophisticated new dining concepts and a fresh, modern look.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Mail & Package Services will take over Union Station. Here you may purchase stamps, ship packages, send money orders and obtain Notary services.
  • Passport Services will be located on the first floor of the Popp Martin Student Union next to Shake Smart in Room 140A. Make an appointment online for service.
  • Student package and mail pick-up will be available on the second floor of SoVi.

Upper Prospector dining

Upper Prospector dining locations (Jamal’s Chicken, Mamma Leone’s, Salsarita’s, Wild Blu Sushi and 49er Fresh grab-and-go) will close on Friday, Dec. 6, 2024, to prepare for the renovation.

Chick-fil-A, 49er Fresh and Burger 704 will remain open and be supplemented with several rotating food truck options located outside of Prospector through the spring 2025 semester. You will be able to find the food truck schedule and location hours on Dine on Campus.
